PricewaterhouseCoopers

Description

A degree that will get your career off to a flying start
In 2002 PricewaterhouseCoopers (PwC) joined forces with Newcastle University Business School and the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW) to launch an innovative, four-year degree programme. Combining the study of Business, Accounting and Finance with paid work placements, the programme has enjoyed proven success and gone from strength to strength.

On campus
A small group of experienced lecturers will guide you through the degree programme. Capitalising on their own experience of working in business and finance, they use teaching methods designed to make the subjects come alive. The first year will introduce you to Business, Accounting and Finance. During years two and three, you’ll concentrate on the technical and professional aspects, including the ICAEW Professional Stage examinations. The final year will develop your ability to discuss and analyse contemporary business issues.

On placement
The placements are integrated into the second, third and fourth years. Joining PwC’s Assurance team, you’ll work on real projects for real clients. The placements are recognised as practical experience by the ICAEW and thus accelerate your progress towards completing the ACA qualification and membership of the Institute. As well as an attractive salary and paid holiday we’ll also give you practical and financial relocation assistance for each placement.

Well on your way to a professional qualification
While many other degrees tackle Business, Accounting and Finance, none prepares you for your chosen profession as well as Flying Start. The degree’s unique structure enables you to put classroom theory into commercial practice on placement, then relate your practical experience back to your studies. It’s also designed to equip you with a range of business skills that will help you develop your future career.
