That's Amazing...
The deepest diving manned submersible is the Shinkai 6500. With a crew of three, the Shinkai plays an important role in deep sea research.
The vessel is currently exploring submarine volcanoes and superheated vents off New Zealand's coast.
During tests in August, 1989 Shinkai dived to 6,527 m (21,414 feet). At such depth the pressure is 600 times greater than at sea level.

Over 70% of the Earth is covered in water and the nations of the world depend upon ships crews' ability to move cargo and people safely and efficiently across the seas. The oceans provide 99% of the living space on the planet and cover vast natural resources, the exploitation of which will support the continued development of our planet.
Shipping provides a huge and essential contribution to the world economy with around 50,000 merchant ships trading internationally and manned by over a million seafarers of virtually every nationality.
Over 95% of commercial goods imported and exported to and from the UK are carried aboard ships. The industry is the fifth largest revenue generator in the UK services sector and has at its core highly competent seafarers respected worldwide. The UK also leads the world with its maritime financial and legal shipping services. As well as those carrying cargo of all kinds specialist ships also provide a wide range of commercial and industrial services relating to sea bed mining, surveying, exploration and construction support and supply, emergency response and specialist tug services. There is a large and thriving marine recreational industry providing millions of holidaymakers with cruises, and a large proportion of people and vehicles are moved by sea ferries.
There are many exciting opportunities for individuals to spend from a few years at sea to those looking for a life-long career in the Merchant Navy. A career in the shipping industry will provide seafarers with the opportunity to gain considerable responsibility and experience in a stimulating and varied working environment. Extensive rewards include considerable travel opportunities, a great variety of options to develop your career, and a good career structure. Modern ships provide the opportunity for learning how to use state-of-the-art highly sophisticated technology, and all training qualifications are recognised throughout the world.
"Though pleas'd to see the dolphins
play, I mind my compass and my way."
Matthew
Green - English poet (1696 - 1737)
